You are not as tall when you walk.  Based on Pythagorean theory, here is my formula for determining your walking height.  It is basic math, that turns out looking complex.<\/p>\n<p>h = total height will standing<br \/>\nh&#8217; = height while walking<br \/>\nG = length of gait<br \/>\nl = leg length, floor to hip joint, not inseam<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.garrettbelmont.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/walking-height.gif\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My height is 70&#8243;, leg is 38&#8243;, gate is 27&#8243;.  So my walking height is 67.52&#8243;.<\/p>\n<p>This math is no good for running or taking into account people who lift themselves by their &#8220;rear foot&#8221; toes and bounce foolishly while walking.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Originally an email to Justin.
